Veterinary Medical Imaging – Seeing Clearly for Optimal Care

The purpose of medical imaging

Medical imaging plays a vital role in diagnosing and monitoring diseases in companion animals. Using state-of-the-art equipment and specialized expertise, imaging allows for precise evaluation of internal structures, enabling faster and more accurate treatment.

Each exam is performed to the highest standards of excellence in collaboration between our board-certified imaging specialists and highly trained veterinary technicians to ensure diagnostic accuracy:

Radiography: A fast, non-invasive imaging modality using high-resolution digital equipment to assess fractures and bone abnormalities, intestinal obstructions, and acute abdominal, pulmonary, and cardiac issues.

Ultrasound: A detailed and minimally invasive imaging method using advanced equipment to detect a wide range of conditions, including abdominal diseases (various cancers, endocrine issues, vascular malformations, intestinal disease), soft tissue, and thoracic disorders.

CT Scan (Computed Tomography): A versatile modality using advanced imaging equipment and techniques for comprehensive evaluation of diseases affecting the skull, nasal cavities, abdomen, thorax, blood vessels, nervous system (e.g., intervertebral disc herniations), soft tissues, and bones—often used for mass evaluations and cancer staging.

MRI (Magnetic Resonance Imaging): A cutting-edge imaging modality for advanced evaluation of neurological diseases, including brain and spinal cord conditions.

Fluoroscopy: A dynamic imaging technique for real-time assessment of internal movements, often used in cases involving cardiac, tracheal, esophageal, and orthopedic conditions.

Interdisciplinary collaboration with specialists and family veterinarians

Our imaging specialists work closely with surgeons, neurologists, oncologists, and internists to ensure a comprehensive and collaborative approach to patient care. This multidisciplinary method leads to faster, more accurate diagnoses and better therapeutic outcomes.

Whether for routine evaluation, advanced diagnostic investigation, or post-treatment monitoring, our medical imaging service plays an essential role in delivering complete care—always with the well-being of your animal in mind.

We also offer outpatient ultrasound services by appointment for general practice patients, allowing family veterinarians to provide advanced imaging with the support of our imaging specialists. When necessary, samples for further diagnostic testing can be collected during the appointment.
