Thanks to CENTREDMVET’s veterinary blood banks, we can offer safe blood products tailored to the medical needs of dogs and cats in critical situations. A single donation can save up to three lives!

Can your pet become a donor?

We are looking for healthy dogs and cats that meet the following criteria:

✔ Dogs: Weight of 25 kg and over and/or Cats: Weight of 5 kg and over
✔ Age between 1 and 8 years old
✔ Up-to-date vaccinations and deworming

Donating blood is quick, painless and safe for the animal, and each donor is carefully monitored by our veterinary team.

Why do we need a veterinary blood bank?

Blood transfusions are essential in veterinary medicine to treat serious conditions such as severe anemia, internal bleeding, autoimmune diseases and coagulation disorders. They save lives in medical emergencies.

Can my pet become a blood donor?

Dogs and cats must meet certain criteria to be donors:
✔️ Be in good health
✔️ Weigh more than 25 kg (dogs) or 5 kg (cats)
✔️ Be between 1 and 8 years old
✔️ Have up-to-date vaccinations and vermifuges
✔️ Have a calm and sociable temperament

Is donating blood painful or dangerous for my pet?

No, blood donation is a quick and painless process, carried out under veterinary supervision. Donors receive special attention and can resume their normal activities soon after the blood drive.

How do I register my pet for the blood donation program?

You can contact one of our participating CENTREDMVETs for a free initial evaluation. If your pet is eligible, he or she can start donating regularly.
