How can my dog become a blood bank donor?

To donate blood, a dog must:

  • weigh at least 55 lbs (25 kg)
  • have received treatment for heartworm
  • sleep indoors
  • have been vaccinated annually
  • be easy to handle
  • be between 1 and 8 years old

How can my cat become a blood bank donor?

To donate blood, a cat must:

  • weigh at least 10 lbs (5 kg)
  • sleep indoors
  • have been vaccinated annually
  • be easy to handle
  • be between 1 and 8 years old
